I thought I was my mother’s son

I thought I was her only chum

I thought I’d die,

I thought I’d cry,

I thought I beat her up inside.

The girl, the doll, the wimp I was
The girl, the doll, the wimp I was….

The way I held my teeth askance,

the way I’d walk her in a trance,

the way I’d make my brother grow,

the way I’d beat him with a blow.

I thought I was my mother’s son,
I thought I was what she  could never be.
